This is the second book that I have purchased by Johanna Lundström and I couldn't be happier with my purchase. Making a proper pair of jeans is something I have always wanted to do, but I've always been hesitant. The information that is covered in this book along with the many pictures is just what I needed!! I'd made several pairs of jeans prior to purchasing "Sewing Jeans", so I already had a pretty good idea what I was doing. Nevertheless, I found this book really helpful for the following reasons:- The layout and visual aspects of the book are very pleasing and the order of information is logical and easy to follow- So much more detailed than pattern instructions, with information on everything from the fabric, notions, fitting and very detailed description of sewing and distressing techniques- Beautiful and clear photos- Stitch length/width recommendations for various steps (like bar tacks, etc.) which take guesswork out of jeansmaking-Super handy to quickly refer to a specific step (as opposed to tutorials on YouTube for example).-Having all the information so easily available, I referenced the book frequently as I made the jeans and the finished product was definitely superior to the previous pairs I've made.I made two muslins before making my actual pair, and the time I invested was totally worth it. The jeans I made fit SO MUCH better than RTW jeans. Now that I have my fit issues worked out, I can use Ms. Lundstrom's book to make style variations, for which she also provides instructions.I have all three of her books, and was happy to read that she has more planned.
